Redsprout Tree

Redsprout trees are commonly known for their seemingly luminescent red leaves. It is thought that these unique plants are actually descendants of ancient fungi capable of glowing in the dark. It is thought that they retained this effect to attract fruit-eating animals capable of carrying seeds. The fruit that they bare is similiar in color and shape to an apple, but tastes much differently.

These trees have weak wood that is largely incapable of being used for construction. Chopping them down consumes more resources than it yields, so they are primarily just left out in the wilderness or grown for their fruit. Mages have learned to use their glowing leaves for spells, but other than that, their resources are unimportant.
