Manakiim
One of the first men to roam the continent of Calador. While their cousins, the Urador, fled the great war to the East, the Manakiim moved North and settled in the frigid realm. Being of rough and wild countenance, the Manakiim are also known for the intense magic mystically inherent in their bloodlines. Many powerful Mages can trace their lineage back to the Manakiim. The original Manakiim were mortal enemies of the Infernal, and their races have fought against each other since the dawn of time. Manakiim have always had an affinity with dragons and ice magics, and dragon riders are a prominent weapon in their arsenal. Much of their culture is maintained and passed down through cave drawing and runes inscribed into ancient obelisks that date back to creation and the War of the First Bloods and are guarded fiercely. Manakiim have inherant resistance that near immunity to the cold, and the larger cities frequently house buildings made of Ice formations and caves.

The purest blood can traced back to Drogos the Dragonlord, who slew Lorugheist of the Shade during the Great War, and Queen Tetra, former princess of Urador (Now Averheim) and wife of Drogos. Those with this pure line have great potential, and are most often considered royalty.
Manakiim center around a warrior's society of deeds, heroics, and forefather heritage. Most of what is done revolves around combat and glory or magic proficiency. Most of the Mages in the North tend to be women, who are generally the ice builders and healers of the tribes. While the men that are born with the magical talent are selected as the "Chosen of Drogos" and become berserkers of supernatural strength and fortitude. Runes inscribed on the skin of individuals mark out their prominent roles and responsibilities, victories and accomplishments, and their "Star sign" that denotes something of a destiny or tendency. (Usually a clan sign or symbol)
The Wolffe, the Bear, The Serpent, The Raven, and The Star clans all come together to form the Dragon of the North, and sound the horns of War. The Wolffe marks the Knighthood and Hunters, The Bear marks the Berserkers, The Serpent marks the seers and sages, The Raven marks the shifters, and the Star marks the mages. A dragon symbol encircling all the other symbols represents royalty and is reserved for such. These symbols are drawn as runic designs that faintly glow.
