Forgotten Citadel

The Forgotten Citadel looms at the edge of the grasslands, a vast relic of a once-great bastion now reduced to crumbling stone and shadow. Its towering walls, weathered and cracked, stand as silent sentinels over the sprawling graveyard that encircles it. The air is heavy with a palpable sense of dread, as if the very ground remembers the countless souls that have passed into the embrace of death. The citadel's architecture is a blend of grandiosity and decay, with shattered spires reaching for the sky like skeletal fingers, hinting at its former glory.

While the citadel's undead had been put to rest since Malakar, God of Death's defeat and MistHallow's rise, something stirs yet again within its walls. Within the citadel, the undead roam freely, their hollow eyes reflecting a flicker of the life they once knew. Governed by powerful keepers, these restless spirits maintain a grim order among the denizens of the citadel. The keepers, often ancient and malevolent, command the undead with an iron grip, ensuring that their dark purposes are fulfilled. These beings, remnants of a forgotten age, are a constant reminder of the citadel's history—a place where life and death intertwine in a perpetual dance.

The graveyard surrounding the citadel is a labyrinth of tombstones and mausoleums, each one a testament to the lives once lived. Gnarled trees with twisted roots rise between the graves, their branches reaching out like skeletal hands, adding to the eerie atmosphere. Whispers can be heard on the wind, the voices of the long-dead echoing through the night, recounting tales of sorrow, loss, and betrayal.

Those who dare to venture near the Forgotten Citadel are often met with a chilling sense of being watched, as if the very dead resent their presence. The air is thick with necromantic energy, and many are driven mad by the oppressive atmosphere. Tales of wandering spirits and vengeful apparitions are common among locals, who speak of the citadel as a place best left undisturbed.
