Shard-touched are tragic beings, once Kin or beasts who have succumbed to the corrupted influences of certain God Shard. Their transformation is a slow and insidious process, often beginning with a fascination for the shards themselves, drawn to their luminous beauty and the power they emanate. As they come into contact with these crystals, the shard-touched find themselves increasingly compelled to seek them out, developing an insatiable hunger for their energy.

These beings often appear bloated and twisted, their features distorted by the shards' dark magic. They develop a deep bond with the crystals, sometimes believing they can communicate with them. Whispers of power and promises of greatness echo within their minds, urging them to hoard the shards, which they view as vital sources of strength. This obsession drives them to isolate themselves, forming hidden enclaves where they can collect and safeguard their precious crystals.

The shard-touched are known to exhibit erratic and dangerous behavior, often attacking anyone who approaches their hoards. Their minds, warped by the shards’ influence, can lead them to become more akin to monsters than the Kin they once were. Some even develop a kind of elemental affinity, granting them unusual powers that make them formidable adversaries.
