Veilbound

The Veilbound are a strikingly tall and pale people, often characterized by their blonde hair and clear eyes. Many perceive them as haughty and arrogant, and stuck on the past. Among them, the Strix stand as the pinnacle of superiority, often looking down on other Veilbound and the lower classes.

Once the envy of the continent, the Veilbound cling desperately to the memories of when Veilspire was a beacon of power and respect. Nobility and high-ranking council members are particularly nostalgic, often donning elaborate veils and masks. This practice is rooted in their desire to protect themselves from scrying and other malicious intents that could threaten their power and prestige, even if nowadays they lack those same magical properties.

With the recent return of magic, the Mage Council has begun to reclaim its former influence. They are striving to assert dominance over the people of Veilspire, rekindling the city's legacy as a center of magical knowledge and power. However, this resurgence is met with skepticism from the populace, who are wary of the nobles’ intentions and the potential for tyranny.
