Welcome, brave adventurer!   Forsia is at a crossroads.   It has been nearly a millennia since the fall of the Scillian Empire. Our wild and beautiful world that dwarvish greed and human hubris wantonly destroyed is nearly restored. Elves, gnomes, and their feykin have returned from their refuge to take their rightful role as protectors of ancient forests and mountainous redoubts. The desert elves, their dusky kin, have resumed their stewardship of the desert. Halflings once again farm their ancestral lands. Elves and their kin are not the only refugees who are resurgent to Forsia. God-like dragons, the wise sphinges and their attendant aarakocra fill the skies. The Minotaur sail every ocean and sea, vying to prove who are the best sailors. Even bestial and brutish creatures such as gnolls, orcs, and goblins have all resumed their watch over places of desolation. In contrast, humans and dwarves have yet to recover from the loss of their once profitable joint venture. Humans and their civilizations are increasingly scarce and fragmented. Dwarves remain in stoic and stubborn isolation. Neither have recovered half of what their ancestors once knew.   They, like us all, ask what befell the great Scillian Empire? Yet, nearly 800 years later, historians and lore masters cannot agree on nearly anything regarding the doom that brought utter destruction on the humans and dwarves of Scillia, their empire, and their technological marvels so suddenly, except that it occurred. Whether the Scillia's immolation be divine retribution, the unintended reparation of revolting slaves, the low cunning of saboteurs, or something else entirely may be ultimately moot. For now, now we are in the age of elves and dragonkin—not men and dwarves.   And yet, all is not well. Magebane, the distant shadow of remnant of the fallen Scillia Empire, stirs. Its leader, the Omega, seeks to aggressively recapture her people's faded glory. Magebane sends her inquisitors into her neighbors' lands abducting their people and carrying them back to Magebane in shackles, but for unknown ends. Rumors of hideous experiments to breed an army of strange hybrid creatures have leaked out. Her spies plunder ruins and ancient tombs in search of ancient and forgotten knowledge and her saboteurs sow chaos across the lands. Fear grows that Scillia's human descendants are intent to hastily follow their doomed descendants down to violent downfall, and bring the rest of the sentient races with them.   Adventurers in this campaign are called to answer Forsia's call. Protect and preserve her restoration, or return her to the technological tyranny of the past.
