Session 013: What Happens in Felimandoo...

General Summary

The crew arrives in Felimandoo and Jack immediately splits off to go take care of...something? The rest of the group heads to the Ember Tower to take care of Zenith’s latest chore. Arriving, they find an imposing black tower surrounded by a strange circle of lava rock that all passersby seem to avoid. Mohr, Talasea, and Sparrow stay outside while Zenith and a reluctant Aphid head in. They are greeted at the door by Soma, a somewhat perplexed aaracokra. Soma takes one look at the letter Zenith carries and calls for a “Lae” to join them. After a few rounds of battle with the mouthy Lae Khanthavong, Zenith and Aphid are pronounced worthy to be escorted to the higher levels of the Tower. They meet mage masters Van and Mauli, who explain that the eccentric man who sent the letter must be the former master of their order, who has been missing and presumed dead for years. The mages ask if the group will be in town for a few days and say that they might be in touch with a task related to whatever is brewing, though they refuse to elaborate on just what that is. Zenith and Aphid meet a few more mages and buy some discount spell components before wandering back outside to where Talasea and Mohr are having a very important discussion of what kind of animals they would be. They all head to the inn where they promised to meet Jack.

Meanwhile, Jack is paying a visit to a casino that he is evidently familiar with. The folks inside are all too familiar with him, Nane the dwarf in particular jabbing at Jack with intent. Jack is forced to wait until Kane arrives, his bodyguard Anoshka by his side. Kane is dismissive of Jack’s descriptions of his above-the-board activities and warns him that if he is going to use Kane’s name, Kane will expect more involvement from him in the future. The interaction only goes south from there and Jack leaves to go meet his present troupe at the inn.

Reunited, the group secures a suite and a room at the inn (Kye the innkeeper mentions a “Thomas” to Jack and is confused when Jack asks after them a little too quickly, a little too desperately) and discuss their plans to stay a few days. Jack is reluctant, but agrees, and his dreams, once he has them, are filled with a faceless voice that promises to see him soon.

The crew heads to the Byzaar of Bygones for a bit of shopping and a glance at the local job board to see what could possibly hold their attention for a few days in Felimandoo...
