Session 028: Return to Felimandoo
General Summary
We begin as the North Wind heads back to the Flint and Fire. Jack speaks with Ikaika again and gives her the name Avarice. Ikaika gives Jack a bit of information about Avarice and demons. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew pokes through the store for the first time, finding spell scrolls and components.
They then meet up with Saeng and caught a ride to Felimandoo. The group drops in at the Ember Tower to do some trading and Tal comissions some magic strings for their lyra.
The group goes straight from the Ember Tower to Jack's family's house. Swallow is rather incensed that they messaged so close to arrival and makes them pick up some bread to go with the delicious dinner he'd made. They have a nice, if crowded, dinner with Jack's family and Swallow. Thomas invites them to stay the night.
Afterwards, Tal and Swallow go outside to chat. Swallow refuses to tell Tal outright what he knows or how he knows it, only slightly apologetic as he demands to know whether Tal thinks no one else on the ship has ever lied to them, to know exactly how Tal thinks a thirteen-year-old ends up as a ship's cook. Tal sadly states that they are the only two left. At this, Swallow softens a bit and explains that he took a risk in saying what he did because he thought it might be important. He suggests a few courses of action with finding out more about the Grays: try to get back in to speak with the Gray imprisoned by the Raywalkers in Ivaran, keep an eye out for people who are too alert or don't seem to have a reason for what they're doing, and finally to head to a particular spot on the island of Covalac in the Winter Kingdom. With a more lighthearted Sending to Temperance, the two head back inside. Swallow makes everyone (everyone except for Thomas and Jack, of course) some cocoa before bed.
Next day, the North Wind hits up the market real quick and then set out for Ounacho to get the bounty still being advertised on the job board.
