Fire Nation

The Fire Nation is one of the world's four nations. It is an absolute monarchy led by the Fire Lord and home to most firebenders. Geographically, the nation is located along the planet's equator in the western hemisphere and is composed of several islands, named the Fire Islands. Its capital is simply known as the Fire Nation Capital. The people of the Fire Nation are referred to as "Fire Nationals".   The Fire Nation is the second-largest nation in terms of area, following the Earth Kingdom, while its economy is the most powerful in the world; its strong industrial sector and extensive technological developments not only enabled the Fire Nation to create an extremely powerful military, but also initiated worldwide modernization and globalization.   Their recent industrialization has modernized parts of their society, promoting more egalitarianism among genders and allowing for an emergent class of self-made burgeous to start meddling with beeswax usually associated with the Fire Nobility. They have officially abolished slavery in their territories and make the modernization of the other nations under their newfound standards one of the building moral pillars of the War.

Structure

The Fire Lord is the absolute monarch of the Fire Nation. Generations ago, the ancestors of Fire Lord Azulon bargained their way into becoming the feudal leaders among the Fire Nation Noble Families, removing their former last name from history and becoming known as the "Fire Lineage".   Since there are many other powerful, noble families in the Fire Nation some are granted special privileges, like the Zhindlers, who are in charge of the military of their own island and are allowed to conduct trade with the Earth Kingdom.   The rest of feudal leaders have become public workers, usually imposed by the Fire Lord and replaced at the minimal sign of incompetence or betrayal.

Culture

Since the Great Unification of the Fire Nation the Fire Lineage and the Fire Lords have been portrayed as almost divine monarchs who are generous enough to share their grandour with the Fire Nation and, during the war, with the rest of the world.
