Common Vindexian Sayings

"Back home at the city I always come across this butcher's sign that says "The Lamb's Limb". This isn't just some clever name, it's an idiom. It means that the topic at hand is a smaller part of a larger idea. The origin of the phrase is unknown but probably originated from the farmers close to the border. Other sayings exist like "A miner's burden" which relates to the Miner Ghoul tale. I'm always fascinated by the phrases that exist in the culture that surrounds me. When you research each phrase, you delve deeper into history and how people of the past thought. It's a special insight you can't find anywhere else. Recording these phrases is a strange hobby of mine. Also I forgot to mention, "A miner's burden" is something you would say to curse someone or some thing. Like "I hope you're a miner's burden", if that makes sense. In the tale of the Miner Ghoul, the ghost steals energy from those who are incompetent (his burden). I want to finish this log by confiding some information I've been saving. I heard through the grapevine that the Provectors have their own list of idioms. The one I know for sure exists is "A Vindexian's Folly" which is also the title of one of their myths. It's supposed to mean something's downfall or weakness; of course it defiles the Vindexian name. But I will make sure to conduct some research on these foreign sayings." - Custos
