Fracture

In the beginning, there were the gods, and their first creations, the Precursors. The Arch-dragons, Leviathans, and the Titans. The Arch-dragons and Leviathans laid claim to the sky and sea, and were blessed with the gifts of Essence. Power over the elements of creation. The Titans however, bore no such power, they simply were left with their unrivaled strength to roam the earth.   Eventually however, the Precursors grew tired of being beneath the gods, and rebelled. The great war that followed ravaged the world, leaving no corner spared. As a final act before they had to go into a deep slumber, the gods divided the very being of the Precursors, and forcing them to roam their destroyed world as but fragments of their former selves. The Arch-dragons and Leviathans became the creatures of land and sea, but they made one final gesture to rebel against their creators. Their Essence went to the fractured souls of the Titans, which became known as humanity.   As the centuries went by, the embers of the Precursor's Essence rose and fell, like a spark attempting to kindle the flame. In some, the sparks became nothing but ash, but for others, it burned. Many of the bloodlines of humans began to feel something more within themselves, something that felt more than human. As the generations rose and fell, the Essence that had been growing within the blood of humanity began to show itself.   People began to explore their inner workings, and ended up drawing out the gifts left in them thousands of years ago. Children began to summon sparks from their hands, and change the currents of small rivers and streams. Every generation, the powers grew more pronounced. Sparks became flames, and what once was a curious trick became a power that could begin to shape the world.   However, humans discovered something new about this mysterious power. They could feel another presence that was bound to their very being. It seemed to carry a feeling to it, that of which could only belong to the humans who had come before. When humans discovered the Ancestral Spirits within them, they began to remember the people who had died long ago.   They decided to name this bond "Blood Essence", as families passed on their gifts to their children, in which it's power grew. Fathers passed the power of flame to their sons, Mothers gave the gift of lightning to their daughters. Thus began the cycle of growth, and the power of Bloodlines that made humanity rise into the Era of Reformation. As such they named the broken and scarred world they knew: "Fracture"
