Frale are regularly dissuaded to interact with those claiming to be KIN, either real or undercover. Real Kin, if caught, are arrested, and the Frale are often arrested through a different process, which usually includes punishments such as experimentation considered inhumane, and usually return a shell of their former selves, mentally and physically for weeks afterwards, or permanent depending.
The process of KIN is one on one interaction, the Frale is paired up with a Humane KIN. To benefit from KIN depends on the POWER of that kin, if they are small, usually a family is supported, or a whole community if the Humane KIN is more powerful and has authority. Only one Frale needs to make a connection, and usually parents or older siblings will find themselves looking for a Humane KIN to help keep their family from struggling. They are essentially the only one that communicates with the benefactor, to lessen suspicion.
