Selina von Hoff

High Concept: Savvy Generalleutnant of the Wachhunde
Trouble:She draws way too much attention
Born the last of five daughters to the commander of the Wachhunde, General Christoph von Hoff, she is raised by her father as if she were a boy in order to take his place and command the Iron Guard after he retires. At the age of fourteen, as soon as her training in the basic military skills is complete, Selina is given the task to protect Ketheryna Fischler, and travelled with her to the Ussuran Court.   Despite being raised as if she were a boy and dressing in males' clothes, Selina is open about being female. Even as she embraces her womanhood, she uses her male position to gain freedoms that she could never have as a lady of the court.   She is the love interest of both Viktor Markovich, a warm, hopeful Ussuran trying to regain his lands, and Altai Khatun, a quintessential bogatyr: bold, brave, good-looking, flush with patrons and admirers, always on her way to her next adventure. At court she also earned the admiration and love of Rosalie Lamorlière, and it turn calls Rosalie her "spring breeze". She disliked the court intrigues, but remains there out of loyalty to her father and her friend, Ketherenya.   Then, four years ago, Niklas Trage returned to Freiberg. Selina's father knew as civilization was returning to the rough and tumble city, it was time for him to retire, and he turned the leadership of the Wachhunde over to his daughter. She has steadily been rebuilding it ever since. First, by bringing in Kelby Loring's vigilantes, and more recently by trying to find adels and soldaat who are wealthy enough to purchase a commission, able enough to flourish in Iron Guard training, and have the good of the people of Eisen at heart. It's been a tall order.
