The Sunken City

The coastal city of Vellanas was the center of power for the Naelor Imperium, and at the time one of the biggest cities in the world, until it was sunk by a catastrophic event at the end of the Naelorian Conquests. Although the disaster has been classified as a natural occurrence, many believe that the Fyrgians caused it by making a deal with demons or other supernatural forces. At the time, the Fyrgians were on the verge of losing and being annexed into the Imperium.
Regardless of the cause, the sinking of Vellanas sealed the fate of the Naelor Imperium, which not only lost most of its leadership, including Emperor Olidas, but also more than 60000 citizens. The city was also the economic hub of the country, and the loss was too sudden and too big to be recovered. The Naelor Imperium ended when its vassals rebelled and took over the rest of the empire.
Today, the city is considered a historical landmark, and tourists can visit it by using special diving equipment. While it is expensive, it is still considered a must-see for those visiting the region.
