The First Invasion
The First Invasion marked initial hostility from the fikheri towards the andeamer. The lurokhë made first contact with the andeamer in 10,552 A.W. through radio signals designed to get the attention of any on Ënokh who could receive them. It took some time to establish dialogue, but within a year both parties had direct and clear communication with the Valgaartiran. The Valgaartiran had been the only nation capable of receiving and transmitting radio signals at the time and thus were the first to communicate with the incoming arkship. The lurokhë sought temporary refuge and also to warn the andeamer of possible danger. Arkship 392 entered Ënokh's orbit in 10,760 A.W. and they have maintained their position since. Diplomacy with the lurokhë was tense at first since neither people could meet in person. Andeamer feared that the lurokhë would lead the fikheri to them, intentionally or unintentionally, however, the lurokhë evened the technological scales for their hosts and offered up numerous advancements to help resist an invasion. Neither parties knew for certain if the fikheri would invade and the lurokhë of Arkship 392 believed they had successfully evaded any pursuers. Disbursing technology was methodical for the lurokhë but with every success, the andeamer and lurokhë relations had strengthened. The Valgaartiran maintained their status as being the only nation with access to these technologies as well as contact with the lurokhë. Officials had kept the lurokhë secret from the rest of Ënokh's nations while the people of the Valgaartiran had known from the moment of first contact. In 10,760 A.W., the Vehnanen substation 12 had focused on a specific point beyond the solar system. Further investigation confirmed the dreaded news; the fikheri were moving towards Ënokh. Ënokh had three years to prepare for the invasion. The Valgaartiran began readying their nation for the worst case scenario. Vihdesteya Hälithera issued emergency orders to all citizens abroad to return to the capital, unless they were needed in resource extraction required for the preparation. Within three months of learning of the oncoming fikheri, construction on the Vault began. The mërakh din'üsarr employed the largest labor forces seen since the construction of the Valgaaren. This ensemble was made of native citizens and immigrants stuck in bureaucratic limbo; these immigrants were promised citizenship and a place in the Vault for their participation. The Vault was a progressive and idealistic plan to house the entire population of the Valgaartiran complete with a self-sustaining ecosystem based of the systems aboard Arkship 392 and the city planning seen in, Gaaveth Räd, the catacomb city of Zyendiil Maar. At this point, the Valgaartiran decided to inform the rest of Ënokh of impending disaster, before closing its borders. A controversial move on the world stage, but it would ensure the survival of the Valgaartiran. Alongside this announcement, the mërakh din'üsarr elected Videhsteya Hälithera as Virzangest. The purpose of this was to give Hälithera more leeway in acquiring or siezing more resources to prepare the people of the Valgaartiran as well as protect their borders with more force than normal. Virzangest Hälithera then issued a guide for constructing subterranean bunkers to ensure survival for those who could build them. The Valgaartiran maintained relations with strategic locations across Ënokh, specifically their mining settlements, Gaaveth Räd, and the temple of Mazarath in Vinde Yal Mäsvyel. The Valgaartiran assisted in planning and coordination of reinforcing infrastructure of Gaaveth Räd as they already existed underground and believed they would have a good chance of surviving. The Lurokhë’s Loss
When the fikheri approached the lurokhë home world, the lurokhë were naturally curious of their visitors. It was a peculiar discovery as there was no sign of their impending visit. They seemed to just appear that fateful day. The lurokhë were ahead of themselves and had a plan already agreed upon by their divisions should they encounter exo-planetary life. However, before they could execute this benevolent plan of communication and study, the fikheri numbers had multiplied within hours. They quickly rationalized this visit was not friendly and something very bizarre at best.
It appears the fikheri have control of the portal phenomena and utilized this to stage their invasion and consumption of the lurokhë home-world. Some divisions of the lurokhë possessed their own ark ships, and along with those that had been dispatched years prior for their own purposes, are the only reasons the lurokhë people are not extinct today.Arkship 392 and the Great Exchange
Arkship 392 belong to the only division of Lurokhë the andeamer and now Earth has met. Arkship 392 belonged to a division whose purpose can be broadly describe as “space-exploration.” But I must add they do so much more than that. They knew of Ënokh hundreds of years before reaching us and were interested observers of our planet. The Valgaartiran received their initial distress signal and plea for refuge exactly 236 years and two generations of lurokhë before they reached us. The andeamer who received this missive were still alive when the successors of the initial missive reached us. The Valgaartiran was the only civilization who could receive any transmissions and so it was also our responsibility to give these survivors refuge.
In return, the lurokhë of Arkship 392 gave the Valgaartiran knowledge. Much of which is where we derived our own space-faring technology and weapons to use against the fikheri. The lurokhë rooted their Arkship in our orbit and over the centuries turned it into the Vehnanen. It would be 200 years until the Fikheri would invade Ënokh, but the lurokhë had been helping us prepare for it. In 10,763, or the year of 1839 on Earth, the fikheri had entered our solar system.
The Vehnanen was equipped to repel as many vessels as possible by using the laser cannons you may have witnessed on our ships. These lasers incinerate matter down to its very atoms so they may not reproduce. However, we did suffer damage in this invasion. Some made it onto Ënokh, and this is where the Valgaartiran did all we could to defend Ënokh. I was not a Mirkhanen at this time, but after my chain of command and so many others were slaughtered, I assumed the position and led several legions to the first encounter of the fikheri on Ënokh. They had come down like black rain in their vessels. I say vessels and not ships, because these are not technologically inclined people, and I hesitate to say people. They are Void-turned. Corrupted and infested with the terrible sickness of the Void. The fikheri are mindless drones who only seek to spread their corruption. Monstrous and terrible creatures that only another horrible universe could spawn. The Annun
Our combined efforts are what allowed us to remain untainted from the Void. In the aftermath, much of Ënokh had to rebuild. The Vehnanen became what it is; the much smaller space-station that houses the surviving lurokhë population and andeamer guests. Continuing our cooperation, we assisted the lurokhë in learning more of our common enemy for any future incursions—and knowing the behavior the Void-turned they will emerge again.
lurokhë exploration ships pursued a fikheri vessel. These vessels were noted to not be offensive and their defense was entirely left to smaller versatile vessels surrounding them. This one was alone, its numbers lost. Upon this ship we discovered the Annun. The people the fikheri are created from.
The annun come in a diverse variety of variations dependent on their ecosystem. The majority of this population are what we can describe for you as the “avian” variety. These people are covered in colorful feathers and skin patterns. They are quiet, peaceful, and have been eagerly helpful with the Vehnanen crew. Just as physical appearance varies among the annun, so do their cultures. The other types of annun we met ranged in degree of fear and guarded behavior, but none have been outwardly hostile. I can understand where their fear is derived from. They were misled by their own people. They watched their planet die and then their families. Every annun had a horrific story to tell about the last days on their home-world.
The remaining numbers of annun live aboard the Vehnanen. They assist the andeamer and lurokhë in laboratories, but many find their niche in farming, harvesting, and the recycling center. They are slow to adapt to new technology and clearly miss their agricultural and nomadic lifestyles. From what they have told us, the annun have essentially skipped crucial stages of societal development. When the Void-turned began infesting their planet, they were thrust into space-age technology and now with a destroyed home-world, they have nothing to return to.
There are many types of humans I have seen on Earth. No two cultures or people are the same. That is true of the annun. They are not fikheri, but victims of the Void just as the lurokhë, andeamer, and now humanity.
Virzangest Mizairo Laelis of House LaelisA memo written by the Virzangest Mizairo Laelis for the leaders of Earth to distinguish the annun from the fikheri.
Day of Black Rain
On 5th day of Marëkhs, 10,763 A.W. the fikheri invaded. The initial line of defense for Ënokh relied upon three leviathan ships orbiting the planet, including the Vehnanen. Each of these vessels were equipped with offensive short and long range laser cannons controlled by andeamer and computer. Several fikheri broodships were destroyed by long range cannons, but two sustained survivable damage. These broodships allowed for smaller vessels to reach Ënokh's surface. Numerous armies were scattered around Ënokh and awaiting invaders. The vessels that touchdown on the fields of Vindyarr Khrïn were engaged by the Valgaartiran mirkh. Within the capital the entire guard fätlässe was deployed across the city and outlying populations living in the outlying villages. Virzangest Hälithera refused to force the population to evacuate to the vault yet. The vault's construction was not complete and still ongoing even as Ënokh was invaded, but had plenty of space to shelter a majority of the capital's populace. Hälithera led her legions at the first touchdown of the fikheri. The initial retaliation appeared successful, however the true outcome of this war did not appear to be in the Valgaartiran's, let alone Ënokh's favor. After 3 hours the first fätlässe were splintered and fikheri slipped through the lines. Hälithera was mortally wounded and brought back to the medical center outside the capital walls. She would die within two hours, but not before naming Valsähr as her successor. Vihdesteya and Virzangest Valsähr's first command was to officiate evacuating the capital's people to the vaults as the mirkh was losing control of the battlefield. Meanwhile in the city, people were already gathered outside their designated entrances. The city guard had split and grouped as many citizens together as possible at the entrances and defended against invaders that had fallen inside the city. In Gaaveth Räd, the andeamer there fared better already protected underground. Andeamer had utilized the natural cavernous landscape to confuse, trap, and evade the fikheri invaders. Citizens were evacuated to hide in the deeper catacombs and overflow into some of the excavated ruins of Nir Rizaal. However, the fikheri would not give up so easily. They had caused cave-ins across the catacomb city, but ultimately needed people alive. Within the grand tombs of the High Priestesses of Mazarath, the deceased had began to awaken. Gaaveth Räd attributed their survival to the awakened priestesses. They fought off every invader tirelessly until the catacombs were free and then dispersed to the rest of Ënokh. Elsewhere in Ënokh relied upon their own military might and that of the wandering High Priestesses. The Leviathans
In the weeks preceding the first invasion, Leviathans began appearing closer to the coasts and in shallow water. On the day of the invasion, they emerged from the water and appeared to "fly", as if swimming in air. As per their described purpose accoring to the Dirrag and the Void-God, the protected Ënokh. The Leviathans appeared across the continent, and likely elsewhere. They absorbed much of the falling fikheri drop-pods and remained in the skies for another two days, before disappearing in the cover of night, presumably returning to the depths of Ënokh's oceans.Aftermath
The First Invasion lasted for two weeks. The direction of the war turned when the last two broodships were destroyed. While the Vehnanen and surviving leviathan ship cleaned-up remnants in orbit, the mirkh below was lead by the Virzangest Valsähr Nihndävilär, mirkhanen Mizairo Laelis, and mirkhanen Gidihrväth Gandevaht. Many were scattered without contact while three surviving mirkhanen were missing-in-action. As the fikheri numbers dwindled, mirkhanen Mizairo Laelis led a search party for the missing while the Videhsteya and mirkhanen Gidihrväth held the territory immediately surrounding the capital walls. Valsähr remained Virzangest for another year to get the empire back to it's self-sustaining state. Once stepping down from Virzangest, he assumed the position of Videhsteya. It would take years for the emerald fields of Vindyarr Khrïn to recover from the black rain, but centuries for the andeamer to recover as a people. Today, many still remember the invasion clearly. Nations and people are still recovering. The global population of andeamer took a tremendous hit, but efforts to rebuild have been unifying among nations and their allies. Combined with their pre-existing knowledge of Void-spawn and global efforts on behalf of the Valgaartiran utilizing Lurokhë technology, the fikheri were successfully eradicated from Ënokh. Many still fear occasional remnants in the untouched wilds, however nothing has been seen for quite some time. The final tally of deaths and casualties remains uncertain. In the Valgaartiran a staggering 636,542 were lost during the invasion. Ënokh was estimated to have lost 4 million people from a 11 billion global population.
