Cooking Ingredients

Ingredients can be bought in bulk from most general good stores, utilized by the cook's utensils artisan tool.

Potion Carrying Case

A potion carrying case allows the user to carry a specified amount of potions safely through their travels. Utilizing a potion from a carrying case or a potion attached to your belt are considered bonus actions. Administering a potion from someone else, regardless of location their person is still considered an action.

Blackfire Clay

This pliant black clay is always pleasantly warm to the touch. As an action, you can work a block of blackfire clay in your hands causing the clay to grow much warmer. Keeping a worked block of blackfire clay on your person grants you advantage on saving throws made to resist cold weather for 1 hour. You can combine five blocks of blackfire clay over the course of a minute to produce a source of warmth equivalent to a small campfire, allowing you to heat a campsite and cook food. Blackfire clay only produces heat, never light, smoke, or odor. The worked clay emits warmth for 1 hour before hardening into an unusable lump. A newly created brick of blackfire clay is composed of 10 blocks.   Value: 20 gp Weight: 10 lb.   Optional Ingredient: A flask of thrym can be combined with ten pounds of common clay to create a 10-block brick of blackfire clay with only 10 minutes of careful work.

Clothes, Cold Weather

These heavy clothes include a thick coat, a fur hat, a woolen scarf, gloves, woolen stockings, and boots. While wearing these clothes, you automatically succeed on saving throws against extreme cold, and you have disadvantage on saving throws against extreme heat.   Value: 10 gp Weight: 10 lb.

Mammoth Chips

Dried dung from a mammoth, muskox, or woolly rhinoceros can be burned as fuel. 1 pound of the stuff can fuel a smoldering campfire for 1 hour. It offers the advantage of not throwing sparks into bedding or clothing, which enables it to be burned inside a tent. The smoke will also repel most insects with a less pungent scent than the average insect repellent.   Value: 1 cp Weight: 1 lb.

Terrap Sap

Distilled. When first opened, this sealed jar releases such an overwhelmingly antiseptic odor that it covers all other smells until it disperses 1d6 + 4 rounds after opening. Creatures within 20 feet of the jar get a +5 bonus on all saving throws against scent-based attacks and abilities—such as a flumph’s Stench Spray attack, or a troglodyte’s Stench trait—while the sap’s odor remains, but they automatically fail any scent-based Wisdom (Perception) checks during that time.   Value: 20 gp Weight: 1/2 lb.   Required Tools: A set of brewer’s supplies and an herbalism kit

Winterbite

The white-veined leaves of this minty sprig carry a pleasant and soothing scent. As an action, you can crush fresh winterbite leaves between your fingers and inhale the pungent, sharply sweet odor that clears your sinuses and sharpens your senses. For the next hour, you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.   Value: 20 gp   Optional Ingredient: You can preserve the potency of winterbite by drying it in the smoke of an open flame in which alchemically treated pine wood chips are burned.
