Aasimar

Every so often, a Human is born different. It is not known why it happens, if there is a purpose or if it's just one of those things, but regardless, those born "touched by the aspects" have been with the human race for as far back as records go.
Called aasimar for short, most could easily pass for a "normal" human barring a closer inspection and most choose to try to do so to avoid unwanted attention. While not apt to receive a hostile reaction most humans tend to treat an aasimar with more respect than may otherwise be warranted while also keeping them at a distance, which can be tiresome and depressing. For this reason, while not overtly repressed, aasimar rarely rise to positions of power or prominence.
