Desert of Death

As one would expect from the name, the Desert of Death is extremely inhospitable to the unprepared. One of the most arid regions on Fulcrum, the temperatures skyrocket in the day and plummet at night; it is not uncommon to hear the loud crack of rocks splitting apart under the strain of repeated thermal expansion and contraction.
That said, the biota of this area is surprisingly diverse, with a wide variety of animals and plants that have successfully adapted to the region's difficulties. Even several sentient races (the yuan-ti and the aarakocra) call this place home.
