Haskashar (Venus)

Haskashar was founded as a collaboration between the Indian Space program and the Indonesian Space Program. Although both countries are associated with The Central Order, the city was purposely disassociated with earth politics. The two countries worked together to send as many people from their countries to the new colony. Many other South Asian countries citizens, particularly the Philippines, whose populace immigrated to India due to rising sea levels. When the The First Sol War broke out, Haskashar was cut off from earth and had to fend for itself. However Haskasharians are no stranger to hardship and carved out a niche within Venus as the place where one can find anything that one can possibly buy despite the war. After The Great Pulse, the already almost totally independent city had little problem adjusting.

Government

Under The Venutian Free Cities Pact, the government is an elected kritarchy as a city within the confederation of The Venutian Free Cities Pact. The high court of Haskashar is elected, by taking the nine highest voted candidates. The elected kritarchy system was actually developed by Haskashar before the pact, however there was a parliamentary legislative body whose members where elected from districts, unlike the judges who are not elected by district but rather are the nine most voted for candidates through out the city.
