Necromancy

Necromancy is essentially a rudimentary form of soul magic. Whenever necromancy is used it binds the soul of it's last occupant to 'power' the undead, even if the necromancer is not aware that this is what's happening. As a result, when the undead is destroyed the soul is also destroyed, making necromancy seen as a 'dirty' magic by most. Necromancers avoid using Elven corpses when they can since the might fail if the soul has already been reincarnated, or it does work, but they destroy the soul in the process, ending that reincarnation cycle. With this in mind, it is very uncommon to find an elf that is fine with necromancy, or uses it themselves.
The highest form of necromancy is reaching Lichdom, though this is a closely guarded secret among any and all liches.
