Rahkshi
Basic Information
Anatomy
There are two variations of the Rahkshi, the far more common Drone variant that most people refer to when speaking about the species
And then there are the Alphas, a far much rare form of the species that are larger, intelligent, and capable of using magic
Growth Rate & Stages
Young Rahkshi have never been sighted, so its guessed that they are either born/created fully grown, or their ability to move between spheres is exclusive to their adult form
Ecology and Habitats
Rahkshi are seemingly nocturnal, though its believed that they do not need sleep, and are usually only active in the dark or in caves
Dietary Needs and Habits
They are carnivores and seem to prefer the flesh of sentient races over anything else
Additional Information
Social Structure
It is unknown if there is any social structure beyond the separation of Drones and Alphas, but it can be said that Drones will always follow any command the Alpha gives, even if said command is against the individuals wishes, such as sparing prey
Average Intelligence
On average the Intelligence of a Rahkshi Drone is on the same level as a displacer beast, they are intelligent hunters who understand most languages and can strategize when hunting prey, which usually consist of adventures exploring caves. They are perfectly capable of using weapons or tools but usually forgo that, with the only exceptions being taking away weapons from their prey
Alphas are extremely intelligent and are perfectly sentient, and in most cases more intelligent than an average human. A pack of Rahkshi lead by an Alpha is not something most are recommended to ever handle, especially alone
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Rahkshi have perfect vision in complete darkness, and a sensory organ in their tails are capable of detecting magic
The Alphas are capable of telepathic communication and are able to use an ability that is similar to the 'Detect Good and Evil' spell
Civilization and Culture
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
In packs without an Alpha, the Rahkshi will hunt any sentient creature that enters their hunting grounds
Packs with an Alpha however act very diffrently. The alpha will direct their pack exclusively hunt those that fail its test and are deemed evil or irredeemable while leaving all others alone. They have even been reported subduing entire adventuring parties and executing those that fail its test and leaving the others alive. It is a complete mystery as to why they do this
