Zest Macavian (a.k.a. Sun, Light Cannon)

Zest is a fighter that the Kendo brothers recruited in Mound, and helped him break his ties with the Black Talons. He followed the brothers and their endeavors, constantly surprised by the amount of power that they have no problem throwing around for seemingly simple things.

Physical Description

Special abilities

Zest is talented in his ability to shape and manipulate his own Ki. Being able to use it in both offensive and defensive ways, though his expertise is offense. With his talent for manipulation, he is even capable of matching Masamune Kendo, in pure destructive power. Though he is just at talented in using his Ki to manipulate the world around him by influencing the Ki in other living things to achieve a variety of effects from causing plants to grow to creating structures out of wood. He has even dabbled in creating plant golems using his Ki, but has so far proven unsuccessful 

His 'Cursed Blood' allows him to briefly become near intangible, its unknown how he acquired this however

He wears a bracelet that had belonged to his mother wearing it to remember his family
He keeps a ring from his fellow student, Beatrice, on a sliver chain around his neck. wearing it so that at least one person will still remember her

Personal history

Its unknown what Zest did in his early years but up until the start of 5362 he had been working with the Black Talons, till leaving suddenly and going to mound to make money and become strong enough to eliminate his former master and lieutenant. His endeavors were successful due to the efforts of the Masamune and Kokoro. He aided them in there battle against the demon threat of the Eastlands, eventually even defeating the Demon King. He then began exploring the world and hunting down Black Talons wherever he can. While doing this he helped Xahvryn and Tau-wal solve Havenport's problems before moving on.

After traveling with his girlfriend, Promise and the minor fae Rabbit, Zest was able to help Promise kill her former Captain and help her move past that terrible time. Now he comfortably lives with her in a home they bought in the city of Reiss and has gotten married to her.

He has also had several fights in mound, only to pay off debts when he needed to. In the process he had earned himself the title of 'Light Cannon' for his explosive use of Ki in combat

He is proud that he was able to help Promise finally kill Jamas, and help her avenge both herself and Tatrasiel
Is happy to have finally married Promise

Mental Trauma

Hes has died three times (outside of mound). His first death was at the hand of Apollo while fighting alongside the Kendo brothers. His second death was to the Archdemon of Sloth, also while fighting alongside the Kendo brothers. His third death was at the hands of a lich while inside the fortress of Fafnir, once more, while aiding the Kendo brothers
The loss of his real family always nags at him. While he cant remember his real parents, he did stay with his brother, Gormel, for a few months after his family was slain. Gormel was eventually given to a different family though, as the foster family could not afford to keep them both. That family was later found killed with Gormel believed dead aswell. Zest mourns his brothers, but holds onto a small hope that he is still out there somewhere
His training under Apollo was intense both physically and mentally, even forcing Zest to contest directly with his fellow student, until he was forced to kill her by Apollo to prove he had learned enough from his training

Morality & Philosophy

He, at one point, believed that power was necessary to do all the things that you wanted to, but after learning from Apollo he quickly came to change that ideal, growing bitter with Apollo and all of his ideals. It was from this that he began to develop a sense of honor and justice and led him to leave his post and attempt to buy his way out of the Talons. Though after finally be free of Apollo's influence, he came to realize that he needed to be stopped. Zest will no longer stand be and watch injustice be carried out by anyone, and seeks to dull it out in his own way
While not a firm believer in second chances himself. He does think that people can have a change of heart from time to time, while he doesnt think he can ever be 'redeemed' and is doomed to hell, he doesn't see this as a reason to fall into despair

He thinks the world of Promise, believing her a person of strong character and a hardy resolve. He respects her greatly and is happy that he gets to have a future with her
While he doesn't have the best opinion of Rabbit due to their initial encounter, he still values and respects rabbit for so willingly helping Promise, and sees no reason to ever openly speak ill of the Fae
While the two Kendo brothers, do at times, frighten him with the sheer amount of power they wield and causally use however they see fit. He Still respects them greatly as fellow monks and thinks of them of as Heroes, even if a bit reckless

Family Ties

He ran away from his adopted parents home to join the Talons, he has not since returned and would object to doing so

He doesn't remember much about his brother, other than the fact that he had one, but they grew up in separate households after they biological parents were killed. While he would like to find him, he has no way to even begin his search

He does not actively worship any gods, but will sparingly pray to Tyr

Motivation 

While he had hopes that one day toppling the entirety of the Black Talons, he is happy to have a life might that give him just as much fulfillment, if not more. He currently just wants to do his best to make sure that Promise can stay happy, but has been thinking about possibly starting a Dojo in Reiss to help keep his Monk School alive and prosperous
