Location
Post Offices are prominently found in Segments 1, 4, 7 and 10. The same Segments as the
Captain of the Messenger’s Offices, but they can be found in other Zone and Segment combinations.
Purpose
The purpose of the post offices is to process mail coming in and out of the city of
Birdencaster.
Layout
On the side where staff work is a desk to help customers buy stamps or sent packages. Unlike banks and some post offices of the
Old World, a customer can see into the sorting room. The entrances to the post office differ if you are a customer or a staff member as they have separate entrances.
Sorting Room
The sorting toom has five tables, four of which are separated into 12. The five tables are to sort packages into the four of the five Zones and externally to the city of
Birdencaster. There are four tables that are separated into 12 not five as Zone 1 doesn’t get mail on the rare occurrence that it does the Arena staff will be notified by the use of a
Messenger and will visit the
Captain of the Messengers’ office in
2 10.
Each of the segmented tables for the Zones are numbered from 1 to 12. The further away from the main desk the higher the number goes. The tables are 1 meter (3ft 3.22in) by 12 meters (39ft 2.59in) but are made of multiple tables to get to the required length.
The Process Of Sending Mail
Packages and letters are taken to the post office to have their postage paid for. Once in the post office, it is sorted to the right table.
The sorting options are;
- Zone 1, then it is put into a bag to go to 2 10 to be delivered to the Captain of the Messengers’ office.
- The package or letter is going to Zones 2 - 5, then the package will be placed on the corresponding place to Zone and Segment.
- The Package is going to externally to the city, then it will get sorted not by Segment but by region that the destination is in.
Zone 1
Once the mail for Zone 1 reaches
2 10. The Captain of the messengers asks one of the messengers to go to the Arena in Zone 1 to tell one of the staff members there to collect their mail at their convenience. It is the job of the Arena staff to go and collect the mail themselves.
Zone 2 - 5
This type of mail is taken to the
Captain of the Messengers office that has the jurisdiction of the other Segments. As there are
Captain of the Messengers’ Offices in Segments 1, 4, 7 and 10, Mail that is for Segment 6 will go to the office in Segment 4. A table of which office it goes to is below.

Transportation
Transportation Of Internal Mail
Once it arrives at the
Captain of the Messengers office , the messengers of the service deliver the mail.
Transportation Of External Mail
Post Offices will take mail that is designed out of the city to their Segment’s Zone 5, so a post office in
4 7 will take their post to
5 7.
Each mail carriage is marked out for a certain region and is laid out alphabetically.
