You might have noticed that I have named this article “Rivers” and not just a name for a river. This is because in this world Future’s Seen, has a carbon copy of the earth’s rivers, so there would not be much point in writing about a river in particular. If you want that information please go to Wikipedia and search for any river you may think of.

This article deals with rivers in general and how they have changed since The Great Rewind.

This article does not distinguish between; Rivers, Canals and Navigations. Rivers are natural, Canals have been created by humanity and Navigations are where a river has been engineered to ensure it is Navigable. In the case of this article, you could replace all usage of the word “River” for “Canal” or “Navigation” and it would make sense.

Technology

The Great Rewind

Because of The Great Rewind, road transportation has regressed to horse and cart transport, anything that is critical that needs to get its destination uses trains and anything that is somewhere in the middle goes along waterways.

Culture

On cultural terms, a group of people who work on or along the waterways are affectionately known as Riverfolk.
The Riverfolk sail keelboats that can run like public transportation from one place to another or as transportation for goods such as a sawmill that is out of town, that needs a delivery of logs or to transport timber into town.
