Guardian Dragons

Dragons Who Understand The Worth of Others

Guardian Dragons are dragons that choose to protect others. Typically, the ones they pick are usually human. These dragons tend to be more social and protective than others of their kind.   When a guardian dragon is of age, they'll scour the land to find their partner. When someone is found, the dragon will attempt to become partners with them. If successful, they'll be eternally loyal to them. Although, if the dragon finds them to be unworthy, they will leave them without a second thought. If a guardian dragon cannot find a partner, they'll choose a piece of land and protect that.   It is believed that protecting another being will help them grow as an individual. Others say there's an incredible power that is unlocked when a dragon and partner are in perfect sync. However, this is just a myth.   Other dragons look down upon these type of dragons. To them, they're nothing but weaklings who waste their time looking after inferior races. It doesn't help their already negative stigma against dragons in general. Because of this races try tricking them into becoming their partners and end up murdering them for their bodies. This often leads to destroyed villages and massacres.   What truly sets them apart from other dragons is their drive and dedication to their partners. That being said, they still have the ferocity and strength of any normal dragon.
