Aridi
The term Aridi covers the groups that settle in the southern part of Vanarik on the shores of the Summer Sea. These communities consist mainly of humans.
They are considered romantic, hot-headed and courageous among the other peoples. The Aridi are a people driven by passion and pride. They believe that their natural impulses and emotions are signs by the gods. Therefore, to disobey or try to control these feelings would only bring misfortune. This does not mean that they follow every impulse and every whim unconditionally. Rather, they see their feelings as a kind of complex map that determines their path in life. The role that feelings play in their culture runs through all facets of Arid life. Friends and lovers stand by each other unconditionally and rivals do not hesitate to bring down their enemy. Disputes quickly lead to heated discussions or the clashing of blades. Just as lust and desire lead to fiery romances, intrigues, great deeds and terrible crimes.
Aridi are very locally patriotic. They are not committed to a large society or nation but to their birth-place, their friends and the land on which they grew up. As a result, most Aridi do not refer to themselves as such, but as inhabitants of their hometown or region.
