Humans

Gifted with a lifespan that is but a brief flash to elven eyes, humans must make the most of the short time they are given. Their energy and passion allows them to accomplish great things, but their relatively brief glimpse of historical perspective ensures that most of their greatest works crumble to dust, worn down by the sands of time. 
Gaia is home to numerous ethnic groups of humans whose cultural, linguistic, physical and religious characteristics are the dominat culture in many regions of the world. Untold numbers human cultures have also disappeared from the face of Gaia, while others can only be found in small numbers.
Unlike other humanoid races, humans cannot easily be divided into sub-races with distinctive characteristics. Humans vary greatly in appearance and are divided into countless nations, states, sects, religions, bandit kingdoms and tribes that are in constant conflict with each other. Since people identify themselves by their history, culture, language or religion, there are many ways to divide human peoples. All distinctions are inevitably intermingled, due to centuries of colonizing and conquering other lands and the resulting mixing of cultures.
