Orcs
The mighty Orcs are known as powerful warriors, savage barbarians and freedom-loving people. Warfare runs through every aspect of orcish society. When they are not out raiding and attacking others, they are training their fighting skills, repairing their weapons and siege engines and waiting for the next war.
They prefer to build their strongholds in caves, as they are easy to defend and do not have to be elaborately constructed. It is therefore normal to find orcs in the ruins of a conquered fortress or in underground structures. Those orcs who could not find castles and dungeons usually live in villages and move around as nomads. Such villages consist of tents and other temporary structures arranged in a circle and protected by ditches and palisades. Orcs usually build their villages on hills, cliffs, lakes and rivers in order to naturally improve their defenses.
As orcs rarely build towns, they are usually not tied to one place. As soon as an area no longer proves worthwhile, they pack up everything important and leave their caves and huts behind, even if this land was previously the home of their tribe for generations. Through these large migrations, which take place at irregular intervals, the Orcs have also managed to spread across the majority of Gaia. In doing so, they often adopt the cultural characteristics and customs of the peoples they meet along the way.

History
Together with the dwarves and goblinoids, the orcs are considered one of the first mortal races of Gaia. With their lust for battle, they brought down the dragons.
They then moved across Gaia and fought among themselves over the new land. These constant battles among themselves prevented the orcs from building significant or far-reaching empires. Such achievements were further hampered by their savagery and self-reliance. Orc tribes were only kept together as long as a strong leader could force the other orcs to obey. If this leader died in battle or became too old, the large tribe fell back into internal power struggles and broke up.
The one great achievement that every orc still brags about today is the murder of Bhaal. When the god tried to force the orcs to go to war for him, they murdered him and ate his body. The blood gods that emerged from this act are considered by most orcs to be the most powerful and strongest gods, as they earned their divinity in battle and were not born with it.
