Sonastírish
The Sonastírish were formed from the halfling tribes that initially settled on the island of Sonastír. They established small communities in the hills of the flourishing island and farmed the land.
Today, they still live on the same land as their ancestors, but there are now also representatives of other peoples among them. The Sonastírish are characterized by a strong sense of community, while still striving for independence. This is why their communities govern themselves through assemblies and votes, while rarely trying to interfere in the lives of others. These close-knit communities often treat outsiders and strangers with suspicion and reservations, but if someone proves to be harmless or helpful, they quickly accept them into their community. A member of this commune can always rely on the help of others and never has to worry about hunger, thirst or homelessness.

Strength through cohesion
Sonastírish know that through cooperation and cohesion they can overcome enemies who are otherwise superior to them.
The inhabitants of Sonastír are first and foremost loyal to their community and their neighbors. The communities often have minor disputes and rivalries, but these rarely degenerate into bloody skirmishes or wars. Rather, these conflicts are resolved through drinking contests or organized brawls. However, this does not mean that the Sonastírish are defenceless in their homeland. Invaders and pirates who invaded the island under foolish assumptions soon found themselves up against a formidable army, which fearlessly and with terrifying mercilessness drove them back into the sea. In Gaia's long history, no army or other power has ever succeeded in completely conquering Sonastír, let alone retaining its conquest in the long term. Sonastírish who leave their home island stick together wherever they meet. Be it with a warm meal and sheltered sleeping place for a traveling compatriot or the free exchange of goods and services among local Sonastírish settlers.
