Tyrants of the Deep
As life spread across Gaia once more, beings came from the depths of the seas to take control of this world and its inhabitants.
Long before the Titans had ravaged the world, they lurked in the depths and watched the world's events. Now they had come to assume their rightful rule over their world. However, the Aboleths did not attempt to conquer the world with brute force. Instead, they brought gifts and knowledge to all those who submitted to them and manipulated and deceived others into fighting on their side.
When the gods realized this, they declared war against the beings from the depths and called upon the mortals to fight back against these new tyrants. However, as many tribes and cities were already under the influence of the Aboleth, many sided against the gods and their fellow mortals. The world fell into chaos and demons from the Abyss, attracted by the chaos, appeared on Gaia. Wherever a conflict broke out, it wasn't long before demons appeared and fed on the chaos.
However, some of the gods recognized the power of the demons and appropriated it to strengthen themselves. An act that would mark them forever. Nevertheless, the gods now fought a war on two fronts and had great difficulty in not being pushed back.
At least until some Vasilias, led by Asmodeus, sailed down the worlds-spanning river Styx to build a mighty fortress in front of the abyss from which the demons had crawled. This nine-layered fortress would watch over the abyss and prevent the majority of the demons from simply leaving it.
With the demons out of the picture, the remaining gods could concentrate on the Aboleth. Battle by bloody battle, they defeated the tyrants from the depths, until these finally had to flee back to where they had come from. After order was restored, the gods returned to their city and began a great feast to celebrate the victories over the demons and Aboleth.
