Isiq (Is-seek)

The Isiq are a kobold race of Khandra Al-Isiq. They make up a large population across the Khandra Desert, and have even been seen amidst the Bellendere Agrarian Republic as well as Khandris. Being from a city that has its roots in magic, the Isiq are natural spell casters that can often easily pursuit the magical arts.   An interesting note is their speech, they lack the lisp that the Klithzi have, however they have a more rough and high voice than their other kobold cousins. The Isiq do have respect for their Klithzi cousins, however, and relate to their struggle to become independent and a capable people. The Isiq had no competition from humans however to grow.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Isiq are covered in brilliant red scales that are said to glisten in the sun. They have a white or creme underbelly that starts at the bottom of their jaw, to the tip of their tails. They stand bipedal with plantigrade legs, which is an interesting change from most kobolds. Their feet have three long digits with sharp claws at the end, and it is shaped more like a bird's foot over the normal reptilian. This is to offset the heat that the sands of the Khandra Desert.   The scales have a fire resistance, which makes them prime targets to poachers and beast-hunters. They usually have large blue eyes and four long whiskers protruding fro ma narrow and flat snout. Their ears are also long and narrow, to regulate the heat that is experienced in the desert. The claws on their hands are large and shape, and is able to damage even stone.   They stand no more than three to four feet tall, and their tail isn't too long. Some Isiq even chose to hide their tail depending where they go.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The Isiq are carnivores that had recently adapted to omnivore status. They were hunters in their primal past, which were known to shred and tear at their prey. Their cuisine however, has evolved from their primal lifestyle, to include thousands of Meat dishes. They enjoy a mix of sweet and spicy food, as well as garden greens as a side to keep their maws clean and free of bacteria.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The Isiq are natural psions. Thier eyes give off a small blue glow that is seen well into the darkness. This phenomenon is unexplained, they share this trait with very few other natural psions that live on both Gaia, and Rei-Val. Along with their psychic ability, their hearing smell, and sight are rivaled that to a bird of prey. Before becoming enlightened as an intelligent race, the Isiq were said to have been prime predators to any prey that entered the desert and the caverns in which they lived. They often used their psychic powers to stun and confuse their prey before finishing them off with their fangs or claws.

Average Technological Level

Khandra Al-Isiq is a nation that was run by both Humans and Isiq. Due to heavy magical influence, they are extremely magically advanced, making them amongst the few Magical Conclaves that exist amongst the Digital Age. They do not shun Technology however, they will happily use it, but will often fall back onto their own traditions. All Khandrian Humans and Isiq have some basic knowledge of magic. However if they are willing to share that information is solely based on them, and them alone.
