The Five

The Five are five human gods that have been worshiped since Niithian Antiquity. These gods and goddesses are the basic gods that most humans follow and set their goals to. Each one standing for a different creed and way of life.

Mythology & Lore

In the beginning there were five supreme beings that wished to cast their influence upon the world of Dragons. The five, they became to be known as were seen as the creators of the human race. With their sole mission to spread their influence upon the masses of Gaia. The legends say the gods were jealous of the Dragons, and thier rule over Gaia, and decided to put pawns into the world to shape it in their favor.

Divine Origins

The teachings were passed down generation to Generation, the guilds associated with worship and to each of their own deity have recorded what thier mission and goal was. These gods were seen as protectors of the humans in a world of great danger, each god or goddess overseeing a part of their life. Each person follows the teachings their high Priests set forth, in the many temples that lay around Gaia.

Cosmological Views

Humans were a frail and imperfect race in need of guidance. Created in thier own images, they set forth the humans to spread their influence in a wild and unruly world. Only before the world had answered to the Dragons. Under their guidance the human race grew and prospered and they did indeed spread their influence about the world, changing how it worked and was represented.

Tenets of Faith

Depending on what god one follows, each has thier own tenets. Followers that embrace growth and purity, are usually tasked with keeping things clean, and prosperous. The tenets are issued under the writings the temples put out. These five god like beings eventually being called The Five.

Ethics

Pious acts are furthering the goals of the deity they follow, as Sin is going against thier way. Each one balances the other out, anything to upset this balance is frowned upon and would likely cause a reaction by the holy community.

Worship

Regular practices of this religion are in the form of offerings and prayer. These gods must be appeased to remain the guiding hand of humanity. Most are encouraged ot give thanks, and to ask for blessings, or forgiveness.

Priesthood

Priests and Priestesses are appointed by the elder preacher of each temple. They are awarded to those who have solely dedicated their lives to following these gods, and their tenets. Thier jobs differ according to what god they follow, but the overall universal appointment is the same. The temples chose who becomes what.

Granted Divine Powers

The abilities to heal, and see what can be. Priests are usually given powers of the divinity to show a dedication of faith. Usually these healers are considered magic and holy, compared to the modern traditional doctors. These gifts are given to show that they are indeed a herald of the god they follow.

Political Influence & Intrigue

Most human nations approve of this worship, as the Five represent the very fabric of humanity. Most human cities will have temples to which to pray. Some temples being dedicated to more than one god.
