The Ovaari Salt Flats (Ooh-vaar-ee)

In the south-eastern most part of Dov-Dramach lays the Ovaari Salt Flats. This harsh land is uninhabited in records. Being once part of the Keening Bay the land lays under the watertable of Gaia, protected only by the terrain of the coast, which acts as a natural levee. The area has been a prime spot for sneaking into Dov-Dramach undetected, granted that you can survive the landscape.
"This harsh land was once a shallow sea, then the Water levels of Gaia had dropped, cutting off the supply of salt water to this region by the bound up steep hills we call the Ovaari Levee. A thing to keep in mind, do not think that the dragons do not know of the area."
~Kaineng Sahi, Trader.

Geography

The Ovaari salt flats is a very hot and flat region that was once part of the Keening Sea, there lays within this land dead and petrified cora lreefs which add to the surreal landscape. Known as the Back door to Dov-Dramach, only few venture here, and even fewer survive the environment. Things that are left in this region are often dried and petrified out, making it a prime location to seek out Dragon Burial Sites, for Dracomancers. A taboo by Draconic culture, any dragons left here, either become crystalized or extremely well preserved. Mount Thistle can be seen from the flats as the tallest mountain to the northeast of the land.

Ecosystem

It is extremely dry and hot with night temperatures known to go well below freezing. there are tombs that dot the edge of the salt flats that are usually Draconic burial sanctuaries. the extremes of the weather here can make this land very difficult to live on, even for the dragons. However the flat land for miles around ofers a few speed demons to test out inventions.

The Keening Sea

The Keening Sea was a shallow Salt sea that once almost split Sahandra into slivers. The sea was full of coral reefs and teeming with life, until the water levels had dropped sometime in the distant past, that cut off the shallow sea from them much deeper Keening Bay within the Central Ocean. Petrified fossils, corals and fauna can stil be spotted in parts of the Flats, however most of it has since crumbled away into salt and dust due to the high winds that can occur here.
