Kingdom of Aerondale

Information

In the kingdom of Aerondale, where wyverns command the skies and honor is as steadfast as the mountains that cradle the land, a tapestry of grandeur and magic unfolds. The ruling House Taivan soars above all with their formidable Wyvern Riders, while beneath them, three great houses each wield their unique powers. House Kastella, masters of the tempest; House Vasara, builders of unyielding fortresses; and House Saras, whose fiery spirit illuminates the plains. The kingdom features vast plains, dense mystical forests, meandering rivers, and a formidable mountain range. The capital city, Velhaven, is built atop a massive plateau, and it is here that the ruling house resides.

Great Houses

Ruling House: House Taivan

House Motto:"With Wings of Dominion, We Soar Above All."   House Taivan's supremacy in Aerondale is attributed to their unique bond with wyverns and their elite Wyvern Riders, who possess unparalleled skill in aerial combat and dragonlore.

House Kastella:

House Motto: "Through Gale and Gloom, We Sail to Glory."   House Kastella controls the coastal regions of Aerondale and is renowned for their mastery of naval warfare, storm manipulation magic, and a formidable navy.

House Vasara:

House Motto: "Forged in Stone, We Stand Alone."   House Vasara controls the mountainous territories and is known for their exceptional blacksmiths, skilled infantry, and impenetrable fortifications.

House Saras:

House Motto: "Cavalry of the Sun, Bringers of Light."   House Saras holds dominion over the fertile plains of Aerondale and is known for their skilled cavalry, fire magic, and their commitment to agricultural development.

Culture

The culture of Aerondale is steeped in tradition, chivalry, and a deep reverence for the mystical world that surrounds them. The kingdom's cultural fabric is woven with distinct elements that reflect its feudal society and the unique attributes of its noble houses.

Chivalry and Honor

Chivalry is at the heart of Aerondale culture. Knights and nobles adhere to a strict code of honor, emphasizing courage, loyalty, and fairness. Dueling is a common way to settle disputes, and victory in battle is seen as validation of one's honor.

Autonomy of Houses

While loyalty to the ruling House Taivan is paramount, each of the three great houses has a distinct cultural identity. House Kastella's coastal culture reflects the sea's influence, while House Vasara mountainous culture emphasizes strength and endurance, and House Saras culture is rooted in its plains focusing mainly on agriculture and community.

Knighthood and Heraldry

The kingdom is teeming with knights who proudly display their house's sigils and colors on banners, shields, and armor. Becoming a knight is a coveted honor, achieved through a rigorous process of training, valor, and fealty.

Courtly Intrigue

The nobility is well-versed in courtly politics and intrigue. Marriage alliances, land disputes, and power struggles are common, and the political landscape can be as treacherous as the kingdom's wilderness.
