Circle of Dust
The Circle of Dust is a druidic circle that inhabits Talioche, devoted as many druids are, too natural circles of growth and decay. The Circle of Dust however, takes a larger view, encouraging the same destructive circle that happens to the settlements and colonies of Talioche. They support new settlements, and guide travelers, but always look out for signs of decay, and are notably absent when a settlement begins to fall into ruin. Rarely are they overt or hostile towards failing groups and towns, they simply cease to offer aid. Rumors do circle of druids encouraging natural disasters or luring wild beasts into settlements that are vulnerable, but the druids have an overall good reputation, and are often on the forefront when it comes to battling foul magic, or travelers waylaid by monstrosities.
Structure
The hierarchy is loosely organised by skill and age, with 8 Archdruids that are reelected at the summer solstice every year. Archdruid Greythorn is the most active of these eight when it comes too the settlements and travelers across Talioche many of the others taking a more spiritual role, or a focus on balance between the world planes.
Below the archdruids, there are not any formal ranks. Likely candidates for the circle can be chosen at any age, and paired with a more experienced master till they are confident enough to direct their own researches.
Beyond that, there are the less formally associated, from fey spirits and elemental allies, too woodsmen and apothecaries in the smaller villages.
Public Agenda
The goals of the Circle is simple. Support people, towns, animals and even geographic locations. And then ensure that they return to dust when their time comes.
Assets
There are probably around a hundred members of the circle of dust, and perhaps twice that in loose associates. They cannot field and army, but the combined magics of a hundred druids can be dangerous. With such loose organisation, it can be difficult for them to do so.
The circle of dust has fairly little in the way of material goods and little wealth, so they largely deal with knowledge and magical favours.
