Far Mountain's Dawn
A village in the extreme north of Salken, to the north of Mount Sebac, and one of the only places any traveller can be assured a welcome and a hot meal. Furriers, sealers, explorers and others seeking the rarities and treasures of the far north use it as a base of operations when gathering their goods for transport to Lareena and too Marnain. The locals, a melting pot of permanent settlers from the south and tribesmen leaving their rougher lives behind thrive off the summer trade and independently fight off the chill of the long night of winter. Vital to a small number of traders, and useful to an even smaller number of explorers, Far Mountain's Dawn is part trade post, part staging camp and part meeting place, and all rugged, scruffy welcome.
