A world alive in both the literal and figurative sense, dwelling in a universe populated by beings embodying its own laws. Powerful interstellar civilizations and eldritch abominations peaking in from shattered pockets of reality. This defines the world of Gain. But none of that matters. The normal people of Gain are unaffected by these cosmic wars and existential threats. They remain oblivious and work with what matters to them, their families, and their futures. Gain is a planet of musicians trying to make a name for themselves, peasants praying to what gods may listen, and the travel-weary searching for a bit of hospitality. All this talk of energetic angels, muses, contras, and primordials means nothing to them, but this does not make their lives simple in comparison. Far from it, it makes it all the more complex.
