Garonis Aura
The Garonis Aura is one of the Five Auras of the Gaioforce, and its magical domain is the control of matter. The Garonis Aura is green in color. Garonis users have domain over ordinary matter, allowing them to manipulate it for telekinetic command, change its physical properties (phase-changing, density alteration), chemical properties (alchemy), combinations of both (shapeshifting), and everything in between. The skills of the user dictate the complexity and permanence of these changes, so like the Blauri aura, the possibilites are nearly unlimited. For example, Gar'gomaut ascended to godhood by pulling magma from beneath the oceanic crust and creating the continent of Gar'shuun. The Garonis Gaiostone represents these properties in its nature, as it spontaneously shifts between solid, liquid, and matter form. It often exists in a matter cloud form, where all three phases are present, and also puts telekinetic pressure on its surroundings. If an organic being were not strong enough to command its power, they would be forcibly shifted into different states of matter upon physical contact.
History
During the Gaioforce Extinction, the Garonis Gaiostone crashed into the ocean, same as the Blauri Gaiostone. Unlike the Blauri Gaiostone, which began to dissipate as soon as it hit the water, the Garonis Gaiostone densified due to its unique matter control properties. It hurtled through the ocean at its original size (a large meteor) until it crashed into the sea floor, creating a volcanic trench. Unlike the others, this Gaiostone was molecularly unstable, so it was constantly shifting to different phases of matter. While doing this, it got smaller and smaller, intermixing it’s pieces with the magma seeping from the sea floor. It was from this special magma that the first Primal Giants were born, made from living lava and the strongest Garonis users. Due to their powers and origins, the Primal Giants spread their territory by raising the magma and creating sea mounts. This evolved to them raising the sea floor itself, getting closer to the surface over time. Gar'gomaut, the first Primal Giant, became the strongest of these Gaioforce users by fusing with the Garonis Gaiostone itself, and ascended to godhood by raising a large portion of the sea floor completely above sea level. This new continent became known as Orsania, and it became the new home for the Giants. Orcs from Volsemar ended up migrating here as well, losing their Rouzhai powers but creating new civilizations. Some time during the Gigadragonomy, Akana started to reclaim Gar'gomaut's territory for the sea, transmuting the land into water with her powers. This led the two primordial gods to fight each other for territory during the global conflict. Eventually, Akana won by ripping the Garonis Gaiostone out of Gar'gomaut's chest with the Blauri Trident, then pinned him to Gar'shuun. She then used the Blauri Trident to transmute the rest of the continent into water, sinking Gar'gomaut's remains and immediate surroundings to the bottom of the sea. To hide his essence away from the world, Akana built a large, underwater labyrinth around his remains, looking like an ordinary sea cave. The Garonis Gaiostone landed in the Western Cenolic Ocean, closer to Dalterra than Vulsemar. Instead of sinking to the seafloor like it did during the Gaioforce Genocide, the stone's power transformed the region into a volcanic island chain, now known as the Seregan Islands. The flora/fauna of these islands developed an innate connection to the Garonis aura of the Gaioforce, while sentient Garonis life was created by the mixed genetic material of native merfolk & long-sunken Elven sailors caught in the transmutation blast. These people became known as Seregans, and the Gaiostone has remained embedded in the island ever since.Common Garonis powers (not an exhaustive list)
- Telekinesis - can telekinetically control any matter that they have an innate understanding of. This control allows them to use their surroundings as an extension of themselves during fights, as well as other purposes.
- Phase Control – can change the phases of matter in a given subject, whether it be themselves or an external object. This comes in handy for resource purposes, but can also be useful in combat (ex. turning water to ice, rock to lava, etc.)
- Density Shifting - can use the Gaioforce to speed up/slow down his/her molecules, which allows the Seregan to alter his/her own physical density, ranging from intangibility to high durability. The levels of these physical densities vary based on the skill and power of the user. An inexperienced user might be able to make themselves slightly intangible or slightly more durable, whereas a master could make themselves completely intangible or nearly invulnerable. These density changes only last a certain amount of time, depending on the strength of the user.
- External Shapeshifting - can shift the general form of an object or organic being through their own skill and mastery. This generally combines the techniques of density shifting, telekinesis, and phase control, but this can result in changing an object to something entirely different (ex. turning a log of wood into a shield)
- Personal Shapeshifting - Through sheer power and mastery, the user combines the Gaioforce, their molecules, and imagination to transform into something of their own choosing, whether it be a living creature, an inanimate object, or another state of matter entirely, like liquid or gas.
RPG Features
Gaioforce Spellcasting
- Access to the Garonis Aura of the Gaioforce allows the user access to magical powers, subject to the rules of the Gaioforce Subclasses.
- Garonis Damage Types: acid, poison, cold
- Any full-caster class (wizard, sorcerer, warlock, bard, druid & cleric) can add their spellcasting ability modifier to Gaioforce spell damage & healing rolls
- Half-caster classes that do not ordinarily have spell lists (monk, fighter, rogue, barbarian) only get access to their Gaioforce spell list when choosing spells.
- Gaioforce spells do not require Verbal components. Depending on the spell, Gaioforce spells may require material components if they involve the use of matter, antimatter, dark matter, etc, which could be pulled from the environment if it is present. In rare cases, a spell requiring air, fire or another form of energy may not work in certain environments, such as underwater or in the vacuum of space.
- 5e spells listed under each aura-specific spell list can use the same Material components as they would use for similar Gaioforce spells. In other words, the Gaioforce satisfies the caster's material spell components when they don't have a monetary cost, so long as the spell they are casting is on their Gaioforce Spell List.
