Gothicca

BACKSTORY

Gau'sharan, an elderly Wood Elf archdruid, seized the egg from a dead dragon's nest towards the end of the Gigadragonomy. Rather than hatch it in a waning time of war against its kind, Gau'sharan preserved it for millenia with ancient druidic wards of that time. Gau'sharan hatched Gothicca around 200-300 before the Divine Wars and spent his final century raising the dragon and mentoring her with the ideals of natural compassion & justice. Gau'sharan influenced Gothicca from the selfish draconic lifestyle that destroyed so much life during their reign, which he witnessed himself. After 100 years and Gothicca's growth into an adult forest dragon, Gau'sharan felt his teachings were complete and that his time was upon him. He sat down in a forest clearing and meditated until his natural death, spreading his essence into the landscape and fertilizing the flora. To honor her oldest friend, Gothicca named the area Gau'sharan's Grov, revisitng every year during her next few centuries of life. Eventually, Gothicca's benevolent draconism gained followers amongst the Wood Elves & Gnomes she came across. She led these followers on a mecca back to Gau'sharan's Grove, which has become a flourishing forest opening with pure flowing water and a shrub where Gau'sharan died (his bones turned to wood and sprouted leaves & flowers). Gothicca's followers built their new home, Gotharamor, a village where they could worship Gothicca under her matronly protection.

GAIOBROS CAMPAIGN

Around 943 (?) years after the Divine Wars, Gotharamor was infiltrated by Dr. Plaezus, a Wood Elf death cleric obsessed with spreading diseases in the name of Neris, the Revoltving Mistress. While Gothicca slept, Plaezus snuck up to her chambers, silently killed her night guards, and infected her with OumiaRot, an eradicated disease from the Gigadragonomy. Gothicca became extremely ill and eventually blessed her disciple Nolya and her boyfriend Sharpjaw to set off to Vulsemar and find a cure. Unfortunately, Draconius, Balcazar, Master Obu & Fork returned without Nolya & Sharpjaw, claiming to have the cure to adminster to Gothicca herself. While they were telling the tuth about that, Draconius had other intentions and slit Gothicca's throat as she layed in illness, eventually killing her with the party's help. After killing Gothicca's guards, the gang busted out of town with rewards from the treasure vault, given for their service.

UNDEATH

After Darkjaw & Solya usurped Zalcophet and joined the Shadow Triad, they teleported back to Gotharamor to save their people. When they got there, they found an abandoned village littered with long-picked skeletons, along with a dead Gothicca. Furious and hysterical, Solya reanimates Gothicca to fly them back to Necropolis. She then performs a complicated Soul Reform ritual, having gathered nature's memory of the great dragon and her people's end while walking around the village. She used this in the form of dirt that shaped the ritual circle, and combined its druidic essence with her memories of Gothicca (as well as Dr. Plaezus', which he Necrorecovered from his dead mind after they killed him,) to reform a shadow of Gothicca's soul. She then performed a modified Ritual of Dracolichdom to bind Gothicca's soul to her body with a tether to Zalcovia. Gothicca arose in her new unlife, only with memories of Solya/Nolya's generation of Gotharamor. She now guards the Heart Chamber for the Caring Pharaoh, eager to serve her in death how Solya served her in life. She wants vengeance against Draconius.
