Goddess of Health and Protection, Bastet is a patron goddess of healers, like her sister, and one of the protectors and defenders of the world. In the Golden Age, Bastet taught her followers about health and how to protect themselves, allowing the mortal races to protect themselves from dangers the gods may not catch themselves or are within the mortal's power to deal with.
During the Dark Age, Bastet stayed neutral, instead gathering her followers to protect their settlements and people and watching over said settlements until eventually, she and her followers banded together with the other neutral deities until the barrier was raised, ending the war. After the Dark Age, Bastet now looks after her followers, guiding them and sometimes instructing them to go out and protect holy sites and other seemingly important places to the goddess.
Holy Day: The holy day of Bastet is on the 12th of Esus and is celebrated as the day of Health and Cats, this Day is also called the Feline Healing for the comfort and joy cats can bring to people. On this day, the Followers of Bastet will wear the mask of felines and go around offering healing to those who need it and caring for the cats that live in the settlement.
In preparation for this day, followers of Bastet are encouraged to adopt a cat or similar feline and bring them into their care or the care of the place of worship, as cats are sacred animals of Bastet and help keep the rodent and pest population under control as well as the bigger ones able to help guard the places of worship. New followers are instructed to make a mask for the day and assist the more senior members in the healing of those in need. The militant arm of Bastet's warriors participated as well by offering their protection for the day to the citizens for those who were not on active duty or otherwise on essential assignments.
