A unit of spacecraft speed measurement used by the Arshans, based on the cruising speed of the first Arshan spacecraft named the Impulse.

In Arshan culture, an 'impulse' is a unit of speed measurement commonly used for space craft. One impulse is the equivalent of the cruising speed attained by the first space-faring Arshan space craft - A vessel named the 'Impulse'. Measurements in this unit are generally written as 'N impulse', where the portrayed speed is N times the speed of the original Impulse.

One impulse is the equivalent of 1/5 Solus Star-Miles/Hour. Impulse can be converted to star-miles/hour with this equation:

S = I * 4.91
