Galentean Protectorate

The Galentean Protectorate is the collection of stellar systems surrounding Galentus. Formerly the worlds which were the first colonies of the Galentean Expansion, today they are the barrier worlds under direct protection of the Galentean Republic.
During the Collapse, these worlds became some of the most heavily fortified star systems in the Reaches, in a desperate bid by the Collapsing Empire to prevent the Successor States from reaching the Prime Worlds.
While primarily populated by Galenteans, there is also a notable population of Pre-Collapse species on these worlds, descendants of refugees who joined the Galenteans during the retreat, or were on the worlds for other reasons.
The worlds of the Protectorate are relatively free to govern themselves as they will, but do so under the strict and watchful eye of the Republic fleet.
