The Battle of Red was a naval battle fought during the Great Mutiny on the 21st day of the year 187. It was the bloodiest naval battle of the entire conflict and saw the participation of legendary ships and leaders from many of the Stormblood families. During the battle, Kindra of Kyra, a leader of one of the opposing sides, was killed by a ballista bolt fired by her former lover Flint, who had defected to the other side. This action prolonged the war for an additional five years, until it ended in a stalemate in the year 192. The sea is said to have turned red from the amount of bodies in the water, and the sharks were said to have feasted that evening.
