Self proclaimed name, Gnarl was his original name. The brothers adopted the moniker of gnarl partly in honor of their brother and partly in hopes of running into someone who had heard of the unusual name... and not king

I was thinking of kinda just stealing the background of Po from kungfu panda a little bit?
I just can't figure out the triggering event/why it worked out that way.
But gnarl's mother/father did a self sacrifice thing to save Gnarl but this made her have to stay inside the bag of holding for too long and become the Bag Man.
Gnarl doesn't know it's her. That's why the Bagman took the fourth brother King... because that's one thing they can remember about their past life .. was that they had children and is just taking all goblins away until she can find the right ones.
