Seastate of the Matatoran League
The Matatoran League is a chain of islands located in the Vast Sea, south of the Empire of Iron, in Mizyak. These islands are known for their warm tropical climate, lush jungles, and rich volcanic activity, making them a unique and exotic destination for adventurers and travelers alike.
The islands are inhabited by the Matatai Fire Elves, a proud and seafaring race who have mastered the art of sailing on their wayfarer ships. These ships are specially crafted to navigate the underwater volcanic veins that crisscross the sea, serving as guides for the Matatai Fire Elves as they travel between the islands.
The Matatai Fire Elves are deeply connected to the elements of fire and lava, and they harness these powers to their advantage. They have learned to control and manipulate the volcanic energy that flows through their islands, using it in various aspects of their daily lives, from powering their ships to forging powerful magical artifacts.
The islands of the Matatoran League are teeming with exotic flora and fauna, both magical and mundane. The jungles are dense and vibrant, with towering trees draped in lush vines, and colorful flowers blooming at every turn. Magical creatures such as fire-breathing dragons, lava elementals, and other fantastical beasts are known to roam the islands, posing both challenges and opportunities for adventurers.
The Matatai Fire Elves have a rich cultural heritage, influenced by their deep connection to the elements and the lush environment of their islands. Despite the warm and welcoming culture of the Matatoran League, the islands are not without their dangers. The volcanic activity can be unpredictable and hazardous, with eruptions and lava flows posing constant threats. The jungles are home to formidable creatures, and the underwater veins can be treacherous to navigate. However, for those brave enough to explore these islands, the Matatoran League offers a world of adventure, mystery, and magic unlike any other.
The two largest of the provinces of the League are Rendova and Cav Koma. Rendova is arid and covered in sharp stones that formed from years of constant eruptions. Cav Koma is a tropical rainforest with a large part of the island covered in green. Both these provinces have permanent fire elf settlements while all the islands in-between have not much more than the beaches settled so the ships can dock for the night.
