Vulkan Scarsear

ancient fire elf hero from the 1E, his eruption created a dense valley where the Forsynthian Glenn would eventually grow. This event allegedly burned the great ashen tree when it was in full growth.before this it was known as the Rokau Tree.   1e   Laga was found in the crater   Legend has it that Vulkan Scarsear was born with an intense affinity for fire magic. From a young age, he was able to summon flames at will and control them with ease. As he grew older, he became more skilled in his abilities and was eventually recognized as one of the most powerful fire mages in Galfin.   One of Vulkan's most legendary exploits occurred during the Battle of the Burning Plains. The armies of the Pheori were facing a horde of invading monsters, summoned by Whither, an Apostate of Ba’an and a wild Vespin Aelfe. Despite being vastly outnumbered, Vulkan refused to back down and called upon the power of the flames to aid him in battle. He conjured massive pillars of fire, incinerating entire ranks of ornir and holding back their advance.   The battle raged on for three days and three nights, with no clear victor in sight. Finally, on the fourth day, Vulkan unleashed his ultimate spell. He summoned a towering inferno that engulfed the ornir horde and burned them to ash. The flames were so intense that they scorched the earth, creating the Burning Plains that still exist to this day in the southern Zinth province near Ullana.   Another story tells of Vulkan's encounter with the enormous drake known as Kharazoth. The beast had been terrorizing the countryside, burning villages and devouring livestock. Vulkan knew that he had to act fast to stop the dragon before it could cause any more damage. He journeyed to Kharazoth's lair, armed with only his fire magic and his courage.   The battle was fierce, with Kharazoth spewing flames and ash at Vulkan and the hero conjuring infernos in response. Vulcan was able to decapitate this wingless drake. Little did Vulcan know that this beast was a deadly hydra. But in the end, Vulkan emerged victorious. He cast a spell that summoned a massive fireball, which struck the dragon's chest and sent it falling to its death. Vulkan found a hatched baby in the back of the cave and sought to raise it.   Vulkan’s final battle took place in the southern Firefang jags. This was a civil war between the Urdelan and Pheori fire elves. The Urdelan had committed atrocities against the Pheori but in war no side is truly innocent. The Urdelan were not as adept at fire manipulation but had the power to quell the flames of their cousins. This doused power lead Vulkan and his people into a devastating ambush. Most of his people were killed and Vulkan knew that if they broke the line to the northern Jags, the Pheori would be destroyed. In one final act, when the battle lines were drawn, Vulkan alone showed up to the battle. His army all fled under his command. He fought with searing ferocity as he seared through his enemies. They quenched his flames using their unique subtractive fire magic. As Vulkan took strike after strike, he was surrounded by the attackers. His eyes rolled back, turning black and suddenly becoming volcanic organs and glowing bright. Vulkan was a volcanic Aelfe, or perhaps the name of the volcanic Aelves were named after this legend of old.   Vulkan erupted into to a tremendous ball of fire energy.   All the opposing factions were destroyed with this immense explosion.   The impact was so great that it caused a massive eruption and a shift of earth and stone, creating the valley that would later become Forsynthian Glenn.   However, this victory came at a great cost. The eruption caused by Vulkan’s last stand burned the Rokau Tree, today known as the Great Ashen Tree, a sacred symbol of life and fertility. The tree had been a source of magic and healing for centuries, and its destruction was a devastating blow to the people of Galfin. But even in death, Vulkan Scarsear remembered as a hero of legend, as his sacrifice had saved countless lives from the wrath of his enemies.
