Charison talking to father, Sets off on adventure   Chapter 1 - The New Beginning In the mountain village of Emberstreak, an enormous stone tablet stood in front of the father and son. The surrounding landscape was harsh and rugged, but the giant tablet with runes painted on the surface stood majestically against the dark background. The air was humid and the ground was hot, in the Firefang Jags; a large mountain range carved into the western provinces of Galfin, lived the fire elves; these hot-tempered humanoids have lived in these mountains for millenia. They build their homes directly into the volcano, fire elves thrive in high temperature and use the lava veins as natural furnaces.   "Charison, this rune wall is our knowledge of the past, the words here are scribed by each generation of our kind, allowing every major event to be recorded here."   As Charison stood in awe of the immense wall he did not know what to think. The grandmasters of the fire elves have written of all the strife, the war, the wealth and the prosperity of the fire elves.   "As you progress through your training, you will eventually take my title of Flame Master." The father said as he patted his son on the back.   "Heck, you're fire conjuring has already exceeded mine and many others and you are only 17, you will one day be written about on this wall, but that will not be for a while yet." Burley the Flame Master seemed to be rambling on about his son.   Charison had a thirst for adventure, he did not want to lead the fire elves. Charison wanted to explore, he had heard of elves venturing out of Emberstreak to the vast world, Charison's own uncle comes back to the mountains sometimes to tell of his sea faring tales as captain of the High Guard naval army. For many years the elves have hid from the humans, it seems that the humans think of elves as a reclusive primal species that worship demons. Those claims are prepostorous, those are just rumours that are made up as folk tales to keep little children from sneaking out at night. Elves are more mystery than menace and some humans are starting to see that, in the past few centuries, elves have started to meld into human society but there is always some tension because of those old folk tales.   Charison, still half-listening to his father, remembered old stories that his grandfather used to tell. The great war, who some thought was just a legend, the story goes that the elves of old used the primal humans as workers and slaves, eventually the humans rebelled and overtook their masters; pushing the elven race into the far reaches of Galfin. Humans then became the dominant race in the world and now that man has forgotten of their beginnings, it is time for the elves to join man to usher in a new age.   Burley breathed deeply, pondering his next words deeply "Son," he paused, "you are ready to fight as a powerful elf but you are not ready to lead, your mother and I have decided to send you away for a while"   "Did I do something wrong, and do you mean "away" as in, out of Emberstreak?" Charison blurted out with a hint of hope in his voice.   "Of course you didn't do anything wrong Char, I think it's time that the fire elves came out of hiding, and who better to be an ambassodor than the future leader. I want you to learn your life goals early, and make your mistakes now. A long time ago, the elves ruled Galfin, we were worshipped by the humans. Nowadays there are some humans have forgotten of us entirely, be wary my son, and good luck on your endeavors."as his father finished, a smile spread across the young fire elf's face.   "You will make a great Flame Master one day, but until then, you deserve some freedom." Charison's father exclaimed.   After a few days Charison had said farewell to his family and set off toward the green plains of Galfin's Great Plateau.
