The Mimic Library

A disciple of the god of Knowledge, SpekiRún (secret wisdom). this mimic is believed to be one of the originals that came out of the cleansing period. Through circumstances not recorded, its ability to perfectly copy the shape of anything was noticed by SpekiRún. Granted enhancement beyond that of other mimics, what would become the library became the repository of knowledge for the god.   Everything in the Library is knowledge. The furniture demonstrates past styles and works of skilled craftsman. The architecture samples cultures past and present and every book is a replication of tributes to SpekiRún from their associated shrines.   To gain entry, one must present the Library with some new or updated knowledge. If satisfactory enough, the Library will guide the seeker through the labyrinth to the requested knowledge unmolested. If not, the seeker will be left to search themselves and may be hunted by the guardians instead. When hunted, if you fall you yourself become the tribute and a dedication to you may be found in the depths of the Library.   Beware the guardians.   As a progenitor mimic who is a small pocket dimension themselves, the Library spawns its kind inside itself and allows them to take on the physical representations of contained knowledge. They represent and guard the knowledge imitated and may act to sate their hunger if allowed.   If a seeker is mentally prepared, all books are written in the native language of the reader. If unprepared, the reader may strain their mental capacities just to understand the information provided.   Through the nature of SpekiRún, an entry to the library can be found in any repository of knowledge. The entrance will initially blend into its surroundings and present a door. A creature must have a hardy intellect to enter the Library, and some have been known to pay the entry fee and be unable to enter just from being in the presence of an ancient apex predator.
