Sean O'Shea "Bigwig"
Sergeant Sean O'Shea (a.k.a. Bigwig)
Sergeant Sean O'Shea, commonly known as "Bigwig," is a Bunnykin, or Rabbitfolk, soldier who was formerly part of the Princess Rowean's Royal Light Infantry, colloquially known as The March Hares. A gentle giant of a black-furred and dark-skinned rabbit, he is best known for his heroic actions during The Great Migration. He is now officially retired from the House Lapin Armed Forces, and serves in the Owsla Security Squads under Commander DM Stretch, protecting the Mother of Bunnies Queen Sable and her family.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Sean keeps himself in top physical condition, in part because it's good for his mental health.
Body Features
The first thing everybody notices about Bigwig is his sheer size. At over seven feet tall and over 400 lbs, the general impression he gives is of a living wall. His skin and fur are also very dark, and since bunny expressions can be difficult to read for Humans, he can seem intimidating. However, most who get to know him find that aside from when he's actively in battle, he's really just a big, fuzzy teddy bear.
Facial Features
Adding to the intimidating impression, Sergeant O'Shea has a narrow face for a bunnykin, and a generally serious expression with intense eyes.
Special abilities
Sean is incredibly strong. This is not super-bunny strength, it is just the extremes of normal. He would do well in a World's Strongest Man competition, and is capable of such feats as dragging cars or deadlifting reinforced concrete.
Apparel & Accessories
It is more the lack of apparel that is notable in Bigwig's case. He often goes shirtless when he can get away with it. This isn't due to vanity; it's because most shirts do not fit him properly, and he finds their tightness in weird places irritating, especially when they rub his fur the wrong way.

Personal history
Young Sean grew up in an alternate reality that was much like the Tomeverse, except that most of the people were anthropomorphic animals. He was raised in Houston, Texas, and in his youth, experienced the darker side of racism. KKK members burnt his family's house to the ground, and his father was killed, while his little niece was trapped in the house and suffered 3rd degree burns over 60% of her body.
He carried a lot of anger through his youth as a result of this, and had a perpensity for getting into fights. In addition, overactive hormones contributed to the problem. He was diagnosed with a disorder that caused his body to produce too much testosterone, but since he lived in Texas, he could not get hormone blockers to treat it.
His education suffered as a result of multiple suspensions. However, as he began to put on size — a lot of size — his rage began to dissipate, and he became known for being a sort of gentle giant. He channeled his body's needs into working out and martial arts, and learned to develop calm and control.
Despite these obstacles, he graduated high school, and needing a job, he decided to join the military. He took to the infantry naturally, becoming a heavy weapons operator, or "pig-man."
The zombie apocalypse that destroyed his reality was a terrible shock. While he was demoted twice for insubordination, since he does not lightly suffer fools, he was also a consummate soldier in all the ways that truly count. Having already acquired the nickname "Bigwig," due to the traits he had in common with the character from the classic novel Watership Down, Sean distinguished himself with multiple acts of bravery in the desperate fight against the Undead. However, he has never been decorated for any of it, because the government that would have awarded medals was destroyed, and Queen Sable, the Immortal Rabbit, was killed in the fighting, defending the Royal Nursery.
Like most rabbitfolk, he has vague memories of a strange voice speaking to him in the ashes, telling him there was another Immortal Rabbit that needed him, and would he be willing to start over in another reality? "As long as my family can come," he said in reply.
The next thing he knew, he, his mother, his uncle, and his surviving brothers and sisters (all seven of the 12 that remained) found themselves in the Lapin Protectorate.
Bigwig was proud to join the March Hares, and prouder still he made the challenging requirements. He took an immediate liking to plain-speaking Princess Rowean, who directly commanded their forces. And he also took an immediate liking to the Bunny Queen, especially when seeing how much she was willing to give of herself during The Third Word War.
Bigwig became a personal friend of the queen's when her daughter, young Princess Luna, scurried off from her mother in The Warren, as precocious children are wont to do. He returned the young princess to the Mother of Bunnies, and they bonded over the conversation that followed.
In The Great Migration, the March Hares were the unit primarily tasked with facilitating things in the 1337 Speak Reality, and coordinating with Operation GTFO there. As the portal began to collapse in the final minutes, the big rabbit soldier put his own life at grave risk to grab as many of the migrating children as he could and bolt for the portal. The portal closed on his legs, severing both of them below the knee, but none of the children were injured, aside from a scraped knee when a boy fell out of his arms at the moment of injury.
Bigwig was fitted for state-of-the-art Literomantic prosthetics, the best of Senna Nightshade's MagiTech, and awarded the Lapin Star of Valour for his actions.
He subsequently retired from the Armed Forces, and joined the Owsla Security Squads so that he could directly protect the Bunny Queen, and, perhaps more importantly, the young Princess and her cousin, Duke Uri Kwake, as well as the queen's grandchildren. His former squadmates tease him about being a glorified babysitter. He would be the first to admit that this is probably true... but he loves it.
Cushy, my ass, Sarge. You ever tried keepin’ up with Mama Bunny? The Captain ain’t wrong when he says she’s a lunatic. But it’s fun. The Queen is fun. Proper bun sense of humour.
Education
Despite repeated suspensions, Sergeant O'Shea graduated from high school, and has furthered his education in military service. His focus has primarily been in engineering.
Employment
Other than a burger flipping job in high school, and a brief stint as a stockboy at Wally-Mart, Bigwig has been a career soldier most of his life.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Bigwig believes in protecting those who cannot protect themselves, especially the small and the young. This is what drives him to protect the little royals, and may also be why he loves and protects the Bunny Princess and the Bunny Queen, even though he has great respect for their warrior spirits.
Social
Speech
Bigwig has a notably deep, bass speaking voice, and if one can get him to sing, a rich bass singing voice as well. It sometimes unnerves people coming from a giant rabbit, and also occasionally intimidates people. He speaks with a slight Southern drawl, but this has thinned out considerably, as he has not spent much time in Texas since he joined the military.
