Expedition

The Coop is hired by a merchant caravan to provide an escort through the Western Mountains. Four Coop members set out with the caravan. Only one ends up surviving, but with an additional person who later joins the Coop.

The first part of the journey is successful. They reach Ooda without incident and the caravan goes on its way. In Ooda, they meet Onnya Sokolo, who asks to accompany them back across the mountains.   The return journey is plagues by carrin attacks. Two Coop members are killed and one is mysteriously swallowed by the earth itself. Only one Coop member and Onnya survive.
